Day-to-day banking transactions in the UK are free which means that there
are no charges for:

You can use your debit card to withdraw up to £500 a day. We won't
charge you for using your debit card to make withdrawals from any LINK
cash machine in the UK. However, please be aware some financial institutions
may add their own charge for making cash withdrawals. In these circumstances
you will be given the opportunity to cancel your transaction.
Your debit card can be used as a £100 cheque guarantee card, to
withdraw cash and as a Switch/Maestro card.

You can have your salary paid into your Bank Account automatically by
your employer. You can pay cash and cheques into your account free at
any branch of HSBC Bank, or post cheques directly to us at first direct,

minimum credit conditions
Your Bank Account is designed to handle all your day-to-day banking. So,
once your account is up and running, we ask you to pay in at least £1,000
each month or maintain a balance greater than £1,000, whichever
suits you, otherwise other rates may apply.
We will send a salary mandate form to you, so you can arrange to have your salary paid direct to your new account. We can even help you switch from your old bank by transferring all your standing orders and direct debits for you.
